Job Duties:

• Implemented an in-house school portal system using Vue, Express and MySQL to manage student data and simplify school operations. The system has been in active use by about 1500 users on a daily basis.
• Enabled SSO by connecting the portal with other school platforms
• Collaborated with the data processing team to automate assessment data processing and reduced manual processing time by over 95%.
• Initiated the creation of a serverless microservice using Azure Machine Learning and Python to help predict students’ public examination results based on their past performances to facilitate career advice.
• Established a robotics team in school and supervised a group of 8 students to join a robotics competition. They had to design and engineer their robots, program them in Python, develop strategies and combat with other teams in a competitive manner.
• Led a team of 5 students to build a Python chatbot application to connect a humanoid robot Pepper to Google Dialogflow. An agile approach was adopted, and daily stand-up meetings were held to increase efficiency.
• Coordinated a team of 10 teachers to build and maintain a WordPress-powered school website and developed plugins for it using PHP.

Freelance Web Developer

Job Duties:

• Implemented a backend dashboard for the school portal using React. Administrative tasks such as user account management, data import, backup and batch processing were automated to reduce human errors.
• Supported school administration with a wide variety of statistics generated from over 600,000 database records created every year.

• Developeda school portal system with PHP, jQuery and MySQL which facilitated administrative operations for staff and provided an online learning platform for students.
• Launched an online debating platform to support English learning.
